Harmonyic believes that the purpose of the church is to be good news. It believes
the task of Christians is to take the life changing message of Jesus Christ to those
who have not had an opportunity to experience it for themselves. The problem is that
churches easily get bogged down in the organisation of doing church instead of being
good news. So we want to help churches refocus. Part of this can be achieved through
the Healthy Churches Programme
However, this is not quite all there is. Churches need to radically re-focus and
that should mean doing new things, trying new ways of meeting with and helping those
who would never go to a church ‘meeting’ We glibly talk of the de-churched (those
who have given up on church) and the un-churched (those who never have been part
of church) but what can we do to meet such people, engage with them and help them?
Harmony is willing to work with churches on relevant projects but do not start on
this unless you really want to do Something Different. If all you want to do is change
your music, your pews, the times of your services or get more people to attend on
Sunday, then you need the Healthy Churches Programme.
Something Different
Harmonyic wants to encourage churches to experiment on new mission initiatives.
If you are interested read on.
What are our motives for mission?
- To get more people to come to our church? NO!
- To plant a new church like our existing one? NO!
- To get more workers to run our church organisations? NO!
- To share Jesus and help people? Possibly
- To do what it takes to enable people who do not yet know Jesus to meet with him in
a way they can understand and respond to? Definitely.
